Teen Workshop: Audition Technique for College and Professional Theatre

Teen-audition-Workshop

In the world of theatre, there is perhaps nothing more confusing or intimidating than auditioning. Actors spend countless hours worrying about which monologues to use, what to wear, how their resume looks, what to say to the auditors, and all of the other details that make up an audition. The good news is that, like so many theatrical skills, auditioning is a technique that can be developed, rehearsed and mastered. That’s what this class is all about.

This three-weekend workshop is designed to develop the skills that will help you deliver a great audition, all while building a complete “audition package” of 4 contrasting monologues ready to be used at auditions. We will cover selecting and rehearsing material, professional appearance, headshots and resumes, practical audition etiquette, preparing for callbacks and how to follow up on an audition (whether you booked it or not.) Class will wrap up on our third weekend with a full “mock audition,” which families are welcome to attend.
