KCPT Youth Programs Summer 2024 | July – August

Summertime is coming and Key City Public Theatre is here for your performing artists to shine!

Every summer, we offer week long camps for Grades 1-9. These day camps provide an immersive experience for students of all levels to deepen and expand skills taught throughout the year.  They are also an excellent introduction to the fun and creativity of theatre arts education. Each camp results in a showcase for friends and family to highlight their experience during the immersive week.

These popular camps that engage youth in fun, creative ways outdoors at Chetzemoka Park generally sell out, so early registration is recommended.

All class presentations take place the FRIDAY of the final class, 15 minutes before the end! (Except: Performance Intensive's A MIDSUMMER CAMP'S DREAM, which takes place all weekend, and StageCraft, which culminate with the Performance Intensive as well. )

Youth Theatre Summer Camp | Stagecraft

Imagine, Construct, Create the props, sets, and costumes for a short play to be showcased in KCPT's Performance Intensive at Chetzemoka Park the week of July 29- Aug 3.

Together, with artist Margie McDonald, the class will envision the theatrical elements that will make up the world of the play and then bring them to life. The week ends with a showcase of the theater pieces created. Students taking this class are encouraged to continue in the Performance Intensive week to incorporate their newly created technical elements of the play into performance as stage managers and technical crew. Students interested in acting in the Performance Intensive are encouraged to take this class as well to dive deeper into the creation of the play. Acting in the Performance Intensive is by invitation only.
