• Plays should be performed by 1-2 actors.
• Set pieces are limited to chairs, tables, and rehearsal blocks. Minimal prop and costume requirements.
• Storytelling that requires minimal lighting and sound cues, though live sounds like bells or phone rings are encouraged.
• Plays must be submitted in standard stage play format, with 12-point font in a PDF or Microsoft Word Doc.

The event is held in May each year for 2 evenings ONLY as part of our new play festival. Depending upon submissions, additional weekends will be added throughout the season. Approximately 77 guests will attend each event which will feature 3 plays.

While this is an event that cultivates patrons and raises the profile of the theatre in the community, it was borne out of the desire to provide a showcase for regional playwrights' work. All performances are Pay What You Wish to insure the accessibility to audiences and are not considered a part of our mainstage season.

There is no submission fee.

Upon receiving scripts that fulfill the guidelines above, playwrights whose scripts are selected for performance will receive a licensing agreement and honorarium/royalty fee of $15/performance. Not all plays will be selected.

Note: Sips & Scripts involves a fully staged production of each featured script. In addition, one script per performance will receive a second showing in which audience and actors will participate in the shaken & stirred portion of the event- the chosen script will be performed again with the inclusion of improvisational challenges for the actors by way of rolling dice. The text of the script shall remain the same.
