Candidates will have excellent organizational, communication and multi-tasking skills. Candidates will have working knowledge in at least two productions areas (sets, sound, lighting, costumes, props, directing, stage management, etc.); works equally well independently and with a creative team. Tasks and assignments will be based on the candidate’s prior experience and field of interest. Candidates should have basic knowledge of G-Suite, Qlab, and Microsoft Office.

Apprentices will work in all aspects of theater. Each individual experience can be tailored to these areas of interest:

Production/Stage Management is ideal for those interested in pursuing a career in stage management, production management or directing. Candidate will have excellent organizational, communication and multi-tasking skills.

Technical/Design is ideal for those interested in or pursuing a career in production management, technical direction, or design. Candidate will have working knowledge in at least two productions areas (sets, sound, lighting, costumes, or props); works equally well independently and with a creative team.

Artistic/Education is ideal for those interested in pursuing a career in directing, acting and/or arts education. Candidate will have working knowledge in directing, with excellent team-building/collaborative skills and multi-tasking abilities. Teaching experience with pre-teens, teens, and young adults a plus.

Production is ideal for those looking to pursue a career in theatre. Apprentices will work in all aspects of theater including but not limited to sound design, lighting design, set design and construction, costumes and props.

Communications/Administrative is ideal for those interested in pursuing a career in arts administration, marketing, development, audience services or general management. Candidate will have working knowledge Microsoft word and excel, excellent verbal and written communication skills and multi-tasking abilities. Tasks and assignments will be based on the candidate’s prior experience and field of interest. Experience with adobe creative suite a plus.

Contract Details

  • Season rehearses and performs in Port Townsend, Washington.
  • Contracts available.
  • Contract end dates are negotiable depending upon production schedule.
  • Housing and stipend available.
  • College degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Preference given to full season commitment.
  • Start dates are February/March or May/June or September/October.
