In this class, students begin foundational theatre techniques through games and exercises, while exploring self-expression and creative play.
This class is designed as an introductory course for students who have perhaps expressed an interest in theatre, but have yet to try it! These classes are great for building confidence and learning important social skills. Get ready to laugh, play, move, and explore characters!
There will be a showcase on the last day of class for family and friends, 15 minutes before the end of class.
This class is recommended as a prerequisite for Drama Fundamentals.

Students explore the fundamentals of drama and develop the building blocks of character and storytelling through a theatrical lens. While continuing their foundational techniques they learned in Theatre Adventure Club or previous classes, Drama Fundamentals encourages students to keep diving in! Build characters, begin scene work, explore improvisation, and keep the magic of ensemble building.
There will be a showcase on the last day of class for family and friends, 15 minutes before the end of class.
This course is great for new students and returning students who want to focus on scene work and improvisation. Class limited to 15 students.
NOTE: There will be class on Nov. 11, Veterans' Day.

The focus of this class evolves every session to provide students with new theatre techniques to expand their artistic tool box. The curriculum is customized to reflect the student’s personal interests and skills. Previous focuses have been audition technique, musical theatre, stage combat, and physical theatre. Our fall focus is Musical Theatre.

Spend an unforgettable evening filled with Broadway favorites, heartfelt performances, and the incredible talents of Kat Agudo, accompanied by Linda Dowdell, along with her friends Kyle LeMaire, Morgan Bartholick, and Maggie Jo Bulkley who will make this a night to remember.
Most importantly, this evening is an opportunity for our community to surround Kat with love and support as she begins the difficult journey of rebuilding after this devastating loss.

Submission Impossible (New Event!)
3 Playwrights face the impossible mission of penning a play to submit to the audience. Live writing to audience prompts will result in 3 short plays, one of which will be performed by actors waiting in the wings. The Clyde Best Story (Film)

THE CLYDE BEST STORY
In 1969, a Bermudian teenager broke into England’s First Division Football (Soccer) becoming the first Black superstar of football/soccer’s modern television era.
The Clyde Best Story is a first-hand look at overcoming racial discrimination in sport through the lens of a barrier-breaking player. Clyde Best, known as “the first Black role model in English football,” is a Bermudian native who played 221 games for West Ham United Football Club from 1968-1976, scoring 58 goals as a striker, and in the process became one of the trailblazing non-white football (soccer) players in the 1970s. Following his English career, Best was one of the high profile athletes brought to the United States to grow the sport stateside in the North American Soccer League. He scored over 50 goals for the Tampa Bay Rowdies and the Portland Timbers, and faced off against high profile athletes including Pelé, efforts which created the first generation of American soccer fans.
Recruited from Bermuda at age 17, Clyde Best's journey to athletic success was turbulent - as one of the first Black athletes to play First Division Football, he faced extreme harassment and discrimination, yet shouldered through with excellence and in doing so broke racial barriers that forever improved the sport and opportunities for non-white, non-English athletes. He is a living legend who serves as torchbearer from old world English football all the way to the modern game.
Anchored by an exclusive, intimate interview with Clyde Best himself, and accompanied by a wealth of archival footage, this feature-length biography documentary uses Best’s story as the entry point for a larger narrative about BIPOC individuals in professional athletics, and examines the current state of unfinished equity in the game today.

WHEN THE MOMENT COMES (PLAY)
DramaforaChange, is proud to present the moving and impactful story-telling and theatre play Ruhi’s Story: When the Moment Comes at Key City Public Theatre in Port Townsend, WA, October 23- 24th 2026. This powerful play produced and acted by Nava Sarracino tells the true and harrowing stories of Bahá’í women and men persecuted in Iran after the 1979 Iranian Revolution.

About the Show: Russian-born Solomon Rabinowitz took the pen name Sholom Aleichem from the traditional Hebrew greeting “peace be upon you.” The popular Yiddish writer shared stories of 19th -century Jewish life. American audiences know his Tevye stories made famous by “Fiddler on the Roof,” but they span much more — from hilarious tales of train rides and mud production to bitter monologues on assimilated Jews and anti-Semitism.

2026 Youth Performance Intensive: ‘As You Like It’
As You Like It is a comedic story about Rosalind, who flees to the Forest of Arden disguised as a young man and encounters love, friendship, and self-discovery. Amid humorous misunderstandings and romantic adventures, the play celebrates identity, freedom, and the joys of life in nature.

In Dacha’s original Dice format, a virtuosic ensemble of actors memorizes the entire script of a classical text and the roles are randomized at the start of each performance. What happens next is live theater without a safety net.

Mad Hatter, Dormouse, and March Hare meet for a tea party to honor Time, who has forgiven the Hatter and set time right once again. But when the Jabberwock comes and wreaks havoc, the tea party guests, including the Caterpillar, the Duchess, the Frog Footman, and Tweedledee and Tweedledum, decide that something must be done.

The focus of this class evolves every session to provide students with new theatre techniques to expand their artistic tool box. The curriculum is customized to reflect the student’s personal interests and skills. Previous focuses have been audition technique, musical theatre, stage combat, and physical theatre.
There will be a showcase on the last day of class for family and friends, 15 minutes before the end of class.

Meet our instructors
Brendan Chambers holds a BFA in Acting from Carnegie Melon University and graduated with a Master’s degree in Educational Theater from New York University. He has worked with KCPT for over five years as a key artistic staff member. He has appeared in nearly a dozen productions, directed several mainstage shows, and led a variety of educational programs. In 2019 Brendan was promoted to Key City Public Theatre's Artistic Associate.

Students explore the fundamentals of drama and develop the building blocks of character and storytelling through a theatrical lens. While continuing their foundational techniques they learned in Theatre Adventure Club or previous classes, Drama Fundamentals encourages students to keep diving in! Build characters, begin scene work, explore improvisation, and keep the magic of ensemble building.
There will be a showcase on the last day of class for family and friends, 15 minutes before the end of class.
This course is great for new students and returning students who want to focus on scene work and improvisation. Class limited to 15 students.

In this class, students begin foundational theatre techniques through games and exercises, while exploring self-expression and creative play.
This class is designed as an introductory course for students who have perhaps expressed an interest in theatre, but have yet to try it! These classes are great for building confidence and learning important social skills. Get ready to laugh, play, move, and explore characters!
There will be a showcase on the last day of class for family and friends, 15 minutes before the end of class.
This class is recommended as a prerequisite for Drama Fundamentals.
Partial scholarships are available by request.
